Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan asked party leaders and workers not to gloat over the party's consecutive success in the last two Assembly elections, but to spread out and send the party's message across to the people in the remotest corners of the State. Chouhan was addressing a meeting of party office-bearers and district presidents at the State party headquarters here on Thursday.
He said that they should begin working at the field level. "There are a number of good government schemes that need to be publicised properly. The office-bearers should not care about sun and rain and convene at least three public meetings in their areas to intimate people about various schemes of the government," he said.
"Party workers should go among the masses with confidence and pride over the achievements of the government as well as the party," Singh noted. The Chief Minister also talked about the achievements of his government focusing upon round-the-clock electricity. "Work is progressing on a war-footing to provide electricity to all villages in 50 districts of the State by June 15. For feeder separation and electricity supply, nearly `22,000 crore has been spent. The objective of this is to empower rural economy by establishing a network of cottage industries in the State.
It would reduce the pressure on agriculture and promote industrialisation in villages," he said. The Chief Minister also mentioned about the Mukhyamantri Yuva Swarojgar Yojna saying it would promote entrepreneurship among rural and urban youth. "A convention of beneficiaries would also be convened to look into various aspects," he noted.
Chouhan also told the party office-bearers about Annapurna Yojna of the State government. "From June 3, the government will provide wheat at Rs 1 per kg and rice at Rs 2 per kg, benefiting nearly half the population of the State," he said. He emphasised that the government would launch the programme in every Assembly constituency to give a positive message to the people. He said "our aim is not politics but to raise the living standard and to bring prosperity in the lives of common people."
