Congress Party state President Kantilal Bhuria, in a statement, said that Chitnis is responsible for the poor results of tenth and twelfth standards and suicide of the students.
Bhuria further said that very less classes were organised in schools statewide during the academic year 2012-13. Publicity programme for Minister Chitnis were organised in the schools which had no direct link with the curriculum of the students.
Also students were distracted by the programmes meant to benefit Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) like distribution of RSS published Devputra magazine etc which led to downfall of results this year.
He said that suicide by 12 children is a very serious issue and School Education Minister Chitnis should take responsibility of the incident and resign from her ministerial post.
If Chitnis does not leave her post then Governor should suspend her. Bhuria said that in these modern times libraries and computers pay major role in educating children, but Madhya Pradesh lags behind
in it. Schools in the State do not have these facilities and in few schools where libraries are present their story books are purchased more, to benefit publishers, instead of curriculum books. Computers available in schools are not being used for benefit of students.
Bhuria further said that tenth and twelfth standard are considered as the turning point of the careers. Each and every day during these sessions are very important and if a child fails then it leads to disastrous decisions like suicide. Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) needs to create a positive environment before declaring the results.
