Chhatarpur collector Sandeep GR has been conferred with the Chief Minister Excellence Award for outstanding performance across Madhya Pradesh in Pradhan Mantri AwasYojna (PMAY) Rural.
MP governor Mangubhai Patel and CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan honoured the district collector Chhattarpur with the award in a grand ceremony organised in Bhopal on Monday. A sum of Rs 10 Lakh cash for the district was also rewarded along with the award to the collector in the event. Chief executive officer(CEO) of Zila Panchayat(ZP) Chhatarpur, Tapasya Parihar was also present along with the collector while receiving the award.
Under the leadership of collector Sandeep, the district has excellently performed across the state to provide pucca houses to eligible beneficiaries in rural areas under the PMAY.
"I dedicate this award to the team of officials and employees who have been working hard to provide benefits of the scheme to eligible beneficiaries on the ground level, and to the residents of the district too", the collector told The Pioneer.
"An innovative idea of setting up an online system to check the delay of the scheme has given us a great help to implement it successfully. I have also taken other steps such as regular review of the scheme in TL meetings, field visits to improve the progress and stringent actions to curb the apprehension of corruption", the collector said.
Sandeep also shared that the department of Panchayat and Rural Development also gave him a state-level award in the PMAY-Rural for performing outstandingly while he was posted in Ujjain as CEO of ZP. That experience has supported him to do so better, he added.
The district has been performing well too in various segments since Sandeep G R joined as a collector, as it has been on the top-five rankings in CM-helpline disposal for the last 7 months and in third place in the Aspirational Districts Programme (ADP) in the country for the last three months.
Chhatarpur has been included among the 112 most underdeveloped districts of the country in the Government of India NITI Aayog's ADP.
