Ceramic exhibition ‘Khoj’ put up by a young artist Suchita Rai is evoking a good response by the art lovers of the city and the exhibition is extended for a week.

Displaying the connection between human beings, Suchita put up the exhibition at Rangdarshini Gallery, Bharat Bhavan that began from December 24. Notably, the exhibition was scheduled to be concluded on Sunday, but after a huge response was witnessed by the art appreciators of the city the exhibition is being extended till January 5.

As one sees her creations it becomes clear that she enjoys her work and completes it while putting a lot of enthusiasm. She has been a part of many group exhibitions organised at Mumbai and Chandigarh. This was her first solo exhibition and being the first one it has received a great response.

The spectators have appreciated her work as the ceramic pots or concepts presented by her are much different from the other artists. Further, her exhibition has also achieved a good sale.

While talking to The Pioneer, Suchita said, “I feel that my concepts and presentation is different from other artists as many of the ceramists work on a single concept and prepare their pots or installations accordingly. But, I do not think in the similar way and one can find a variety in my work.” Elaborating more about it, she said, “I do not work out my concepts in a single direction and love to do more varieties. I do pottery too and am more interested in leaf work.”

On asking about the extension of the exhibition, she said, “The art lovers of the city took pleasure to watch my work and the installation of ceramic plates evoked much pretty response. I am much contended that my first solo exhibition received such a good response, so it was a good idea to extend the dates of the exhibition.”

The city artist has molded the wet clay according to her perceptions giving it an enchanting touch and so the viewers are enjoying having a look at them as they walk through the gallery.
