Chief Electoral Officer Jaideep Govind reviewed preparations of the lok Sabha elections in Gwalior and Morena at a meeting in Gwalior on Friday. He directed officers to ensure free and fair elections. Everyone should carry out his responsibility to accomplish this challenging work, he added.
Additional Chief Electoral Officer Vl Kanta Rao, Gwalior Commissioner KK Khare, IG Adarsh Katiyar, Collector and district election officer P Narhari, SP Pramod Verma and other officers were present.Govind directed to keep strict watch over transport of illicit liquor, weapons and vehicles. He gave directives about other important issues also. Divisional Commissioner Khare, IG Katiyar and SP Pramod Verma informed that all is set for the elections.
At Morena, Govind said that Polling Officers and employees have important responsibility of conducting elections. He directed them to work with coordination.Those present at the meeting included Additional Chief Electoral Officer Vl Kantarao, Chambal Commissioner Shivanand Dube, Chambal Range IG DC Sagar, Election Commission’s observer Vl Keroore, Kendavelu, police observer Govind Singh, Collector and District Election Officer Madan Kumar, SP Irshad Ali and all senior officers of the division.
