Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has claimed that the Modi Government of the Centre is serious over making treatments easy, accessible and inexpensive.
BJP (Medical Cell) State convener Dr lakshya Bhardwaj in a statement here on Sunday said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi is serious for making treatments easy, accessible and inexpensive in the country. Indian Medical Council acting over the wish of the PM issued directives to the medical practitioners to increase use of generic medicines. This is laudable step and should be appreciated at its most.”
Bhardwaj further said that to provide integrity to this drive it is necessary tat awareness drive should be launched. It is needed that the medical store owners should be lettered with generic medicines because till now branded medicines are sold in the name of the companies. With the trend of generic medicines the doctor would prescribe generic name, hence the medical storeowners should be trained with this trend and the monitoring of the medical stores should also be done by the trained people who should be have degrees of B Pharma and M Pharma and who understands the content of salts, he added.
He said that now days the medical license is issued in the name of B Pharma degree holder but the persons running medical stores are not trained. The results of the generic medicines to the patient would be ensured only when the physician would prescribe it in clear writing. But for the knowledge of the contents of the generic medicines the medical store owners and distributors should be necessarily trained, he added.
