Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh on Saturday said the CBI has started investigations into the Income Tax raids at the premises of two prominent businessmen about a year back.

Talking to mediapersons here, Singh did not name the businessmen, but stated that the CBI had started a probe into the IT raids. When asked whether any incriminating documents or facts had come to the fore during the I-T raids, he said they had been forwarded to the CBI.

When quizzed further, Singh said he could not say anything more and asked the journalists to talk to the CBI spokesman. Regarding the attack on his cavalcade in Kukshg on Friday night, Singh said it was a BJP conspiracy. The BJP leaders were at their wit's end the elections looming large in the very near future. He said the irregularities and scams during the tenure of the BJP government would be gradually exposed.

The former Chief Minister alleged that Dhar SP and other officials had forewarnings of the incident, but they did not take any precautionary measure. An FIR in this regard had been lodged with Kukshi police station the same day in which some BJP leaders had been named. However, 16 hours after the FIR, the Home minister said he did not know about the accused. later, he accused BJP, in particular its leader Sushma Swaraj, of double standard over controversial godman Asaram Bapu issue. He wondered why she was silent on the rape allegations against Asaram when she has been so vocal on the issue of atrocities on women.

"I want to know from Sushma why she has not said a word on Asaram who has been charged with molestation of minor girl," Singh said.
