A case has been filed against Maulana Turab Ali in Mahidpur after allegations surfaced that he shared controversial religious videos on social media, sparking concerns about communal disharmony in the region. The complaint was lodged by Manoj Prajapat, the state vice-president of the Akhand Hindu Sena, leading to swift police action and a search for the absconding Maulana.
According to officials, the accused Maulana posted two videos on his Facebook account, both of which feature Pakistani clerics discussing religious matters. One of the videos includes a Pakistani cleric referring to the sacrifice of a cow during Eid as an act of 'Sawab,' which means a divine reward for performing a virtuous deed in Urdu. This particular content has caused outrage among some members of the community, who claim that it promotes radical ideologies and threatens public peace.
The Mahidpur police, upon receiving the complaint, registered an FIR late on Sunday night. Officers attempted to detain Maulana Turab Ali at his residence, but by the time they arrived, he had fled. Authorities have since launched a search operation and are conducting raids at several locations believed to be his hideouts.
Mahidpur police station in-charge Narendra Singh confirmed that the video, which was submitted by Prajapat on a pen drive, has been forwarded to the cyber cell for forensic analysis and technical scrutiny. The police are also investigating Turab Ali's other social media posts for any additional content that may be inflammatory or divisive.
“This act by Turab Ali, promoting the radical views of foreign clerics, is an attempt to disrupt the peaceful coexistence of different communities in our region. We are demanding strict action against him,” stated Manoj Prajapat, reiterating his call for accountability and swift justice.
As the investigation progresses, authorities are urging the public to remain calm and refrain from spreading provocative content on social media platforms. The police have assured the community that they are taking all necessary measures to maintain peace and prevent any further escalation of tensions.
