Roping in their parents who introduced them to their school, the students of 1984 batch of Carmel Senior Secondary School hosted a reunion of their batch, recollecting memories and catching up with the lives of their old buddies.
“A lot of our batch-mates were in the city to attend the gala function of the golden jubilee celebrations organized by Carmel Ex-Student’s Association (CESA). So we decided to host a small family reunion with our classmates,” said CESA President and IAS officer Anubha Shrivastava, one of the initiators of the reunion event.
The ex-Carmelites cut a cake marking 50 glorious of the school and were seen humming to the tunes of the ghazals during the event and tapping their toes on old numbers.
“We got the list of our batchmates and through internet; we got in touch with each other. The reason for organizing this as a family get together was that, in those days those working in BHEl admitted their kids here. So our parents too knew each other well. So this was a reunion of our parents with their friends and our classmates. A true memory to cherish,” Anubha added.
Came all the way from Canada on invitation from CESA, Neelima Dahata recollects the memory. “I was badly tied up with work, but I cannot stop myself to relive those days which I cherish in the lane of memory”, she said. Settled in UAE, Jiju Kochumon came with his family. Jiju said, “We lived in an era ... I really miss those days and wish to relive those days of real innocence.”
