According to neighbours of the building, for the past three days they had not been seeing Sachin and his family members. It was only on Thursday night, when intense foul smell started spreading from the top floor, they went to the house and found the odour was coming from the house, and informed the police.

The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination.  The reason for the suicide is not known but police suspect that a family squabble may have led to the tragedy.  According to neighbours, the deceased Sachin Jain had no tiff with anyone and was of a quiet nature. He is a native of Sagar, while his wife hailed from Nagpur. The deceased ran a readymade garments shop,  from the same building.
