Burnt body of woman yet to be identified

Published on:

Identity of the woman found near Subhash Nagar railway crossing on Saturday evening has not been established. The body was charred and the victim was in the age group 40-45 years.

Police said that the body was severely burnt and the body was around a week old which has made the identification difficult during the investigation. One of the hands of the deceased was found missing which was possibly eaten by the stray dogs claims the police.

After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem.

The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation. The post mortem report is awaited and after receiving the report more details regarding the death of the deceased could be revealed.

During the investigation police have not found anything which would help in establishing the identity of the deceased.

The circumstantial evidences suggest that the deceased was burnt to death and later her body was dumped in the bushes near Subhash Nagar railway crossing. It is possible that the woman might have been killed and to hide identity her body was later burnt by the miscreants which would be ascertained after receiving the post mortem report.

Police have denied any kind of information about missing complaint regarding the deceased in the past few days in the nearby police stations. Body was spotted by locals at around 4 pm on Saturday after which police were informed and on the receipt a police team reached the spot.
