Miscreants decamped with valuables worth Rs3 lakh from Prince Apartments under Shahjehanabad police station on Wednesday. Police said the incident took place at the residence of one Naseem Jehangir who works for the PWD department. The incident came to light when the victim returned home around 9 pm from her under-construction apartment near Babe Ali stadium. She found that the locks of door were broken and house ransacked.
A complaint was lodged with the Shahjehanabad police which she claimed that cash Rs40,000 were found missing and along with cash, gold and silver jewelry worth around Rs2 lakh were also found missing. The burglary took place within a short period of time which suggests that the miscreants were aware about the victim’s whereabouts which helped them to flee with the valuables, police suspected.
Circumstantial evidences suggested the valuables were targeted by the miscreants as electronic goods and other goods were not disturbed and only the almirah with cash and jewelleries were burgled. Interestingly neighbours were not alerted by movement of miscreants during the burglary. The neighbours would be questioned during the investigation, police said.
