'Bureaucrats flouting Chouhan's directives'

Right To Information (RTI) and social activist from the State Capital Ajay Dubey has alleged that the lordly bureaucracy of the State is out of the control of the Chief Minister and made public diary of several senior officials who are not furnishing details in their monthly diary.

Dubey in a statement here on Monday said, “MP Government had on June 30, 2009 issued a circular directing additional chief secretaries, principal secretaries, secretaries, Head of departments, commissioners and IGs  under it to maintain an online diary mentioning details of their works completed during a month, according to RTI information most of the officers are not following this order.”

Dubey further said that the officers were asked to mention details of three major decisions and works, details of three achievements, night stay in the rural areas,  tours undertaken outside the State and account of leaves taken on monthly basis. As per the directives, every month entries were to be made latest by 15th of next month, he added.

He said that we are constantly keeping a watch on this diary from June 2009. last year when we revealed this the Chief Minister has directed to take appropriate action against those who were guilty of it and sought explanation from them but we fail to see any impact of the directions issued by the Chief Minister. It shows that till today the bureaucracy in MP is not following his directions. We would like to especially mention that the Officers are not going and staying in the villages. It proves that the grievances of common man in the state are not properly redressed. It is very unfortunate. So we would like to know that how the officers are serving the common man by spending time sitting in their AC chambers in the Vallabh Bhawan, head offices in the capital and the respective divisional HQs in the state, he added.

The RTI activist said that we are going to submit all this details to the Governor for appropriate action.
