The most awaited train to connect Bundelkhand region of Madhya Pradesh would commence run on July 13. Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu has been invited for launching the train, but it has not been confirmed.
This train was being demanded by MlAs, Central Minister Uma Bharti, Narendra Singh Tomar, Chief Minister MP Shivraj Singh Chauhan and even local people. Sources said, one sitting and one model take of the train is parked at Habibganj station yard for past six months. As train will run during the day hours, sitting rake will be used.
For Tikamgarh and Chhatarpur, there was no connectivity from Bhopal. There are only a couple of buses for these destinations from Bhopal, but they too take several hours to reach there, as the roads are quite in bad shape. This new train would certainly provide a better connectivity to the people.
The rakes of the intercity express are ready to serve at Habibganj railway track. After the visit of the Railway Minister has been postponed for several reasons, officials have planned to start the train in local level programme. Minister Suresh Prabhu will flag off the train via video conferencing.
After starting this train people moving out from Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh and nearby districts would be facilitated. The train will depart Habibganj station at 7 am and will be arriving Khajuraho at 11:40. The train will pass through Bhopal, Vidisha, Ganjbasoda, Bina and lalitpur railway stations. The train will depart Khajuraho at 6 pm and will be arriving Habibganj at 10:40 am.
