A dilapidated building, which caused controversy involving BJP MLA Akash Vijayvargiya, was razed down by the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) on Friday amidst presence of heavy police force.
It was the same house which was to be demolished in Ganji Compound area on June 26 when BJP MLA Akash Vijayvargiya had assaulted civic officers with a cricket bat alleging malafide action. Later PM Modi had even rebuked Vijayvargiya for indecent behaviour. However, well aware of the sensitivity of the matter, the administration had made elaborate arrangements deploying police force of three police stations. In the presence of 150 municipal staff, the movement of traffic was blocked in the area during the action. Including the house razed down on Friday, the municipal corporation has declared 26 houses in the area as dangerous.
As MLA Vijayvargiya had assaulted the municipal officer Dhirendra Bayas, 21 municipal employees too sided with the lawmaker promoting municipal corporation commissioner Ashish Singh to sack them.
