Two miscreants wanted in the murder of a builder were nabbed by a joint team of Shymla Hills and Mumbai police. They were sent under transit remand on Wednesday after being produced in a local court here.
SHO of Shyamla Hills police Virendra Singh told that Mumbai police informed regarding the location of two absconding accused who were involved in killing of a Mumbai based builder in the year 2013. On Tuesday a joint team of Mumbai and Shyamla Hills police raided lake View apartments and found two persons who were identified as Mahesh Bijlani and Anil D’souza.
He said that the two used to remain confined in their rented apartment and their movements were also not suspicious due to which they were successful in hiding for so long in the city. The accused chose to rent an apartment in the area where the residents used to interact rarely with their neighbours due to which the locals were also not aware about the accused.
Earlier in the year 2013 Sunil lahoria was shot dead outside his office. In the investigation Mumbai police found that the Venkat Shettikar and Wajid Qureshi have killed lahoria. In the further investigation it was a contract killing and builder Suresh Bijlani and his architect friend have assigned the killing job to the Shettikar and Qureshi.
later Mumbai police traced location of Mahesh who is elder brother of the main accused Suresh and with the help of Shyamla Hills police nabbed Mahesh Bijlani and his driver Anil Dsouza from lake View apartments. The Mumbai police kept an eye on the movements of the relatives and acquaintances of Anil Dsouza which yielded results and they were able to trace the location of the accused.
