Bhadant Vimalkirti Gunasiri said that in this world everything is temporary, nothing is permanent in nature. Change is the law of nature. Human beings have innate desire for pleasure but at the same time there is unknown fear in him about death that results in suffering. Through following teachings of lord Buddha one can do away with suffering and can remain unaffected by the circumstances.”
Gunasiri, President, Bodhisattava Baba Saheb Ambedkar, Buddhist Academy, Pune was delivering lecture on the topic ‘Vipashyana & Personality Development’ on the fourth day of Sanchi University of Buddhist-Indic Studies’ lecture Series-Tattvabodhani.
He emphasised that through Vipshayana, one can learn the art of controlling mind and can develop personality in holistic manner. We should not search Sukha outside, it lies within us. The whole life of ours revolves around us Chitta. If mind does things in right perspective, it results into Sukha but if it gets involves in wrong doings than it results into Dhukha. We need to focus on two kind of development as destructive development and secondly as progressive development.
Progressive development enables us to develop a well balanced personality. “Everybody is an extremist and this tendency should be restrained. According to lord Budha, only through the power of mind, one can develop ones’ personality. Inorder to understand and reach the different layers of mind, meditation is imperative as Buddhist insists on meditation. Meditation is medium to purge our soul and body.
The Chairperson of the session was Rishi Kumar Shukla, Director General of Police and Chairman of Police Housing Corporation. He stated that we should learn, understand and move forward towards our goals with positive frame of mind. Every-time, we have to remain watchful and forsake things which are negative and only adopt things which enhance our positivity.
