The Bachelor of Dental Sciences (BDS) examination scam marred the Barkatullah University’s Executive Council (EC) meeting here on Friday. The meeting was adjourned after members of the council expressed displeasure over the sharing of the report with the Principal Secretary of Higher Education before the meeting on Friday.
The issue of report’s leakage was raised by the EC members as they were alleging that the report was leaked and one of the members was provided with the report which is breach of confidentiality. The Jain Committee, that was assigned with the investigation of the BDS examination scam and was scheduled to table the completed report on Saturday before the EC but before, the report was tabled one of the members of the EC Principal Secretary of Higher Education JN Kansotiya arrived with the report. Another EC member Amit Sharma objected fiercely to the acquiring of the report by Kansotiya.
EC members alleged that the investigation of irregularities during the BDS examination which was under section 10 was assigned to Justice Jain Committee and the committee was scheduled to present the report before the EC on Saturday but how the report was obtained by PS JN Kansotiya. The meeting was headed by Vice Chancellor Professor Nisha Dube. In the meeting other EC members Amit Sharma, Hemant Katare and GD Agrawal were present.
The EC members demanded a day’s time to review the report and after the demand was accepted the meeting was adjourned till Saturday. The meeting would continue on 11 am on Saturday.
