The unity of BRICS nations against the terrorism is the result of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s political skills, claimed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
BJP Madhya Pradesh president and MP Nandkumar Singh Chouhan in a statement here on Sunday said, “PM Modi certainly deserves kudos for the way he raised the bilateral issues associated with India in the BRICS Summit and gathered support against terrorism applying his diplomatic capabilities.”
Chouhan further said that on the one hand Russian President Vladimir Putin supported the action taken by India against terrorism and on the other hand without taking name of Pakistan it became target of everyone. PM Modi by charmed Putin by telling Russian adage ‘dau naye dosto se ek purana mitra behtar hota he’ (one old friend is better than two new fiends). Chinese president also termed terrorism as enemy of humanity and China principally agreed over terrorism, he added.
During the summit of rising five powers fascination of small issues were dropped due to that the seriousness of BRICS was maintained. Besides, BRICS India is also hosting the BRICSTEK summit in Goa due to that the premiers of other countries including Bhutan, Bangladesh and Myanmar also reached there and with whom PM Modi hold warm discussions and succeeded in bringing terrorism in the mid of discussions, Chouhan added.
He said that India did not left any stone turned to make the BRICS summit an occasion to cash in for security reasons and it is due to this that to strengthen the Aerial security and missile techniques defense deals with Russian worth over `43, 000 crore were signed.
