A book on the life of Batakh Miyan Ansari, guard of Mahatma Gandhi was launched on Thursday.

Retired DGP MW Ansari during an event organized by Sheri Academy, a social literary and cultural institution said that a book named Gandhi's guardian Batakh Miyan Ansari was released on this occasion.

This book is written by Maqbool Wajid and Syed Nasir Ahmed has been published in Hindi, Urdu and English languages. Also, a Telugu version is being prepared. Describing the excerpts from this book, Ansari said that in 1917, Duck Mian Ansari had saved Gandhi's life during his visit to Champaran.

During that time the British were afraid of Gandhi who reached Champaran for a movement, due to which he planned to assassinate Gandhi. For this, he tried to lure the duck mian by giving them a piece of it and also pressurized them not to get greed, by mixing poison with milk of Gandhi and drinking it, which would kill them.

At the last moment Batakh Miyan Ansari stopped Gandhiji from drinking milk and saved him his life by informing him of the conspiracy of the British.

MW Ansari said that the name of Batakh Miyan, who protected Gandhi's life by betting on his life, has been erased from the pages of history.

In such a situation, this booklet will play an important role in knowing the real history of the country. He told that a book based on the anonymous Muslim Mujahideen of India's first war-e-independence, blood installments is also going to be published soon.
