Body of a 42-year-old man, who committed suicide by jumping into Upper lake in the wee hours on Friday, was recovered on Monday; deceased committed suicide during Durga idol immersion procession on Thursday at Prempura Ghat.
Pradeep Randhave Marathe, the deceased came with the procession organized by Askash Vyapari Samiti and after immersing the idol he jumped into the Upper lake and committed suicide. People at the procession raised alarm and informed the rescue team deployed at the time of the procession which acted swiftly but failed to recover the body.
The rescue operation was continued on Saturday and Sunday but yielded no result and on Monday at around 11 am the body was found.
