With the aim to keep water bodies of the city pollution free, the BMC would provide containers and artificial water bodies near natural water bodies where the lord Ganesha idols could be immersed in Narmada water in containers across 85 wards of the city
City Mayor Alok Sharma said that BMC commissioner Tejaswi S Naik has made arrangement for the smooth and clean immersion of lord Ganesha idols during the procession. The division of work has been done for making better arrangements during the event.
Especially made containers for immersion of idols have been made and in the process the containers have been purified and decorated with flowers. The containers would be filled with Narmada water. Places where the containers would be kept would be provided with tents, garlands and other goods, he added.
For better management of the procession and immersion along with the senior officials employees would be assigned who would assure that the arrangements would be completed before the start of the procession and would remain till the end and would monitor the proper disposal of the garbage.
BMC has developed artificial water bodies near Prempura ghat, Bairagarh ghat, Shahpura lake for the
immersion of the idols. Arrangement of power and water has been made.
The immersion of idols would be restricted in pond
at 5 no stop due to the
presence of sewage water in the water body.
BMC has made arrangements of sanitation around the containers and artificial water bodies to maintain cleanliness. The BMC divers would
be equipped with all the essentials required.
The concerned senior officials of the BMC have been assigned with the work of maintaining the arrangements at the spots where the idols
are immersed.
