At least five special dedicated teams of BMC and traffic police would vigil the dedicated BRTS corridor round the clock to check entry of illegal vehicles and would penalise the vehicles according to the law.
After the formal inauguration of the BRTS on Saturday the buses have started plying in the corridor stretching from Bairagarh to Misrod. However, a major obstacle which posses threat for the smooth functioning of the corridor and the side lanes was the entry of prohibited vehicles in the dedicated corridor. To tackle this problem, five teams were formed which would vigil the corridor and if any vehicle is found flouting rules it would attract penalty, officials said.
The decision was taken during a meeting here on Sunday in which UAD Minister Babulal Gaur, Mayor Krishna Gaur, Commissioner of Urban Administration and Development Sanjay Shukla, Director General of Police Nanden Dubey, District Collector Nishant Warwade, BMC Commissioner Vishesh Gadpale, DIG Shirnivasa Varma and Commissioner AB Singh were present in the meeting.
Collector Warwade has banned vehicles from entering the dedicated corridor and has instructed to penalise for flouting traffic rules if vehicles are found using and entering the corridor.
For the safe and smooth flow of MY buses in the corridor the decision has been taken. There are 75 buses which are going to ply in the dedicated corridor which includes 20 AC buses and apart from the buses in the corridor 225 buses equipped with technological and modern techniques are also going to be operated from the city.
