Bhopal Municipal Council meeting will be held on January 21. Before this the ruling BJP and the opposition are face to face. Politics has heated up on 'Mayor of Narela' jib by the opposition. The opposition is also not lagging behind in replying to the counterattack of Mayor Malti Rai.
On Wednesday, all the Congress councilors unitedly questioned why work worth Rs 58 crore is done in the same assembly constituency? Leader of Opposition Shabista Zaki said that the mayor is not of any assembly segment but of the entire city. She should get equal development work done in all the assemblies. That's why this issue will be raised in the council meeting.
Leader of Opposition Zaki said that the agenda of the council meeting includes proposals for construction of drains in Narela assembly constituency, but there is no proposal for any work in other assemblies. There is no proposal for roads, water, electricity etc related to the interest of the public, while the residents are worried about the bulk connection. The internal roads are in dilapidated condition.
Senior Councilor Mohd. Sarwar, Guddu Chauhan said that equal development work should be done in all the wards of the city. An amount of Rs 58 crore should be given in all the Vidhan Sabhas just like Narela Vidhan Sabha. The sewage system should also be fixed here.
Congress councilors will raise this issue in the meeting. Leader of Opposition Zaki said that memorandum will be handed over to all the MLAs of Bhopal including the Urban Administration Minister. A memorandum will also be handed over to the Chief Minister.
Two days ago, Leader of Opposition and Councilor Guddu had called Mayor Malti Rai as 'Mayor of Narela'. He said that there are only proposals for the Narela assembly in the meeting. Not of other wards. Congress councilor from Ward-46, Guddu Chauhan had said that we will declare Mayor Malti Rai as the mayor of Narela in the council meeting.
