A special cleanliness campaign will begin across all 85 wards of the state capital from May 21 to 30 under state government directives for intensified sanitation.
The Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) has prepared a structured cleaning programme for all city wards, directing sanitation officials and ward supervisors to strictly follow the schedule and ensure full implementation.
As part of the campaign, each ward will be divided into six zones. From 7 am to 11 am, major roads, central verges and households will be cleaned intensively. Garbage collection from each home will be mandatory, with all visible waste heaps removed by 11.30 am. The afternoon shift, from 2 pm to 6 pm, will target specific locations.
The afternoon round will rotate across different ward sections, covering markets, ward offices, traffic junctions, statues and hawkers’ corners. Posters and banners will be removed from public property. Additional focus areas include electricity poles, boundary walls, commercial zones, bus stops, railway stations, public toilets, urinals, gardens and auto stands, with deep cleaning at each site. Sanitation workers have been asked to wear designated uniforms.
