BMC encroached our land near Jama Masjid: Auqaf-e-Shahi

Office of the Auqaf-e-Shahi Bhopal in a statement on Saturday alleged that the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) has encroached on its land near Jama Masjid.

Secretary, Auqaf-e-Shahi, said, “The Madhya Pradesh Waqf Tribunal in its order on November 9 in the case number 49/2015 between Auqaf e Shahi Bhopal versus Madhya Pradesh Government and two others told to maintain status quo. The BMC is encroaching on our land and the case is before the tribunal and the BMC is not compiling to tribunal orders.”

He further said that the BMC was carrying out mining and construction work at the management ground of Auqaf-e-Shahi located on the northern side of Jama Masjid. The Auqaf-e-Shahi knocked doors of the MP Waqf Tribunal over the issue that after hearing the case ordered to maintain status quo till further orders.

The information of the same with the copy of stay was given to Commissioner Bhopal, Collector of Bhopal and BMC City Engineer Nanda. Despite this, the BMC without any intimation to the Auqaf-e-Shahi and the authorities placed transformers on the disputed spot.

This is total against the tribunal order and equals contempt of court. The Auqaf-e-Shahi would take legal action against the BMC for this, he added.
