Under the Swachchh Bharat Mission, the Bhopal Municipal Corporation has created a Swachh Bhopal App as a part of a pilot project. The citizens can lodge complaint through this app about cleanliness and it will be immediately taken care by the BMC.

The training on how to use this app was given to the Health Officers of BMC, Assistant Health Officers and health observers of all the wards in the auditorium at ISBT. During the training session Additional Commissioner MP Singh, Deputy Commissioner Health Harish Gupta, Deputy Commissioner Public Relations Harshit Tiwari and other officials of the health department were present.

First this app was started in ward numbers 45 and 46 and after analyzing the data the BMC decided to train all the health officials on how to use this Clean Map Mobile App. During the training session MP Singh said that this App is GPS based. If a citizen sees any waste lying around, all he needs to do is take a picture using his mobile phone and send it through the app, immediately it will pop up as red sign on the concerned wards health observer and Assistant Health Officer. After that the officials will send the cleaning team and then a post cleaned picture will be uploaded. This can be seen by the complainer as it will pop up as green dot on the app. Then they can press the green button on the app and express their gratitude. The specialty of this app is that it is GPS assisted hence to reach the waste lying spot is easy and helps in getting the waste removed faster.
