The district administration will be organising a blood donation camp on Saturday. To promote the cause, ADM Shivraj Verma said that he would donate the blood and all the respective people should come forward for the purpose. The appeal of the blood donation was shared on the social networking site Facebook and Whatsapp. It is being considered important as for the first time collector Sanjay Goyal and ADM Verma are a part of this innovative idea. The camp aims to get 500 units of blood in the camp. Many Government officials and employees along with the visitors are being targeted for this blood donation camp. ADM Shivraj Verma has released the message on the social networking site of blood donation, after the release of the information of blood donation 100 registrations have been done. Every year, the requirement of country’s blood is about 4 million units, while only five million units of blood is available for the needy. Many patients in the country dies per day in want of blood. As many as seven per cent of total body weight is blood and more than 25 per cent of people in their life blood is required. Men and women over 18 years of age, weighing 50 kg or more, can donate blood four times in the year. According to ADM Verma, during the camp, the needy people would be helped in providing blood and anybody who is willing to donate would be welcomed.
