'BJP will win State, Parliamentary polls'

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national general secretary and in-charge of State affairs, Ananth Kumar, claimed that the party’s victory march would begin from Madhya Pradesh and culminate at the lal Quila where the national flag would be hoisted.

Kumar expressed these views while inaugurating the Youth Convention (Yuva Vijay Sankalp Sammelan) here on Sunday at the lal Parade Ground. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, BJP State president Narendra Singh Tomar, national vice president Prabhat Jha, national secretary Sudha Malayya, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha national president Anurag Thakur, State organisational general secretary Arvind Menon, senior Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, senior BJP leader and former Chief Minister Sundarlal Patwa and other senior leaders were also present.

Kumar said “besides making Madhya Pradesh a golden State, the BJP would work to make a golden India. The development work done by the government under Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is exemplary and a discussion of development in the country cannot be complete without a mention of the State’s development rate and agricultural growth.”

Chouhan, addressing a mammoth gathering on the occasion, said “the youth of the State are my right hand, and it was because of their support that development work was being carried out in the State.” Chouhan further said that the enthusiasm among youth had led him into believing that the BJP would register a victory on over 150 seats in the ensuing Assembly elections. The government would meet all the expectations of the youth, he added. lashing out at the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre, the Chief Minister said the Union government had disappointed the people of the country and it had failed on all fronts.

Tomar said “the victory of the BJP in the State would not be limited to Madhya Pradesh only, but would give a new direction to the country. When the BJP took over the reins of the State in 2003, the State was on the verge of collapse and it was a BIMARU State, but under the able leadership of Chouhan, the State has emerged stronger and after shedding its BIMARU tag, is now a leading and developed State.”

BJYM president Anurag Thakur said the leadership of the UPA government was steeped in corruption. The union government has pushed the country towards ruination. Congress claims were baseless and in fact they were deceiving the people of the country, he added.
