BJP vows to meet people's expectations

The Bharatiya Janata Party has claimed that the landslide victory for the party under the leadership of Narendra Modi has multi-dimensional implications.

BJP Madhya Pradesh vice-president Raghunandan Sharma in a statement here on Sunday said, “The huge and unexpected victory for the leadership of BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi would have multi - dimensional implications. The mandate of the people has proved that the BJP no longer remains the party of northern India but it has developed its roots in the southern parts of the country, including Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, in eastern parts of the country, including West Bengal and Assam, and in the north-eastern State of Arunachal Pradesh.”

Sharma further said that when all political parties of the country failed to get a clear mandate in Parliament during the past two and a half decades, the BJP by doing this miracle of getting absolute majority has convinced the people of the country that it would meet their expectations. During the past six decades the sentiments of self-respect and self-reliance of the people of the country were hurt due to incompetent regimes at the Centre. The respect of India has been dented and the image of the country has become like that of a failed nation. The currency value of the country has gone down, he added.

He said that the electorate of the country felt the vacuum of a competent, strong and progressive leadership in the political field of the country and that it decided to fulfil this vacancy by supporting Modi. This has increased the burden of meeting people’s expectations on both Modi and the BJP in the coming days, he added.

He said that during the past six decades the way of country’s progress has also become thorny, but with the strong capital of public support and good faith Modi would not only face the coming challenges but would also reestablish Indian dignity.
