State Congress accused BJP of being unfair to most backward areas in development works.State spokesperson of the Congress Sajid Qureshi stressed that Congress looks all the States with same glass while Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) seems to elude its responsibilities every time.
The State Government has overlooked its responsibilities and has resorted to discriminatory attitude even on the developmental issues, he alleged.
Qureshi further said that to electrify rural areas under Rajiv Gandhi Rural Electrification Scheme of Central Government, a proposal had been passed in a meeting with the council of ministers that was held at Ujjaini.
The four districts including Sheopur, Guna, Shivpuri and Ashoknagar were also included in it but they have been left deprived of their rights. The residents of these districts have been suffering due to double standards of State Government.
The State Government is an agency of implementing the schemes of Central Government, he added. He alleged that BJP is playing dirty politics keeping general elections in mind and silence of the Chief Minister on the issue has corroborated our claims.
The Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) had allocated budget for the purpose but BJP terminated the budget by playing game of the Opposition by two of its ministers. Backward areas are already having a lot of issues and due to these kind of treatments they would be kept
far behind. The State Congress spokesman said that in order to gain political advantage, BJP is meting step motherly treatment to the areas where the Congress is in a strong position. Apart from being unjust the discrimination would deter the process of development of the State, he added.
