BJP to observe 'Dhikkar Diwas' in Madhya Pradesh today

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Madhya Pradesh unit president, Nandkumar Singh Chouhan has said that the people who supported the anti-national activities in the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) would not be tolerated and that Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi should tender apology for lending support to the incident after going to the university campus.

While talking to media persons here on Saturday, Chouhan said that the State BJP will condemn such people by observing statewide ‘Dhikkar Diwas’ tomorrow. Raising anti-national slogans in the name of freedom of expression is not only shameful but also sad. Opposing any ideology, leader or a party is understandable but seditionists would not be spared.

Targeting the Congress, the State BJP chief said Rahul’s visit to the JNU campus and supporting the anti-nationals was a matter of concern and asked whether the Congress party itself was supporting the anti-national activities in the JNU. He said the Congress should give clarification over the JNU episode.

When asked about the BJP’s plan to form a Government with the PDP said to be supporter of Afzal Guru, in Jammu and Kashmir, Chouhan quipped that the PDP had rectified its error and claimed that the Government in that hilly State would be formed on conditions laid by the BJP.

To a query, he pointed out that the BJP did not support the incident of beating up of Kanhaiya Kumar and some journalists in the court premises and the investigation agency would do its duty in the case related to Kumar.
