BJP to accomplish its political aims through Seva Yatra: Cong

The opposition Congress has alleged that over hundred crore rupees have been spent on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Amarkantak visit besides over fifteen hundred crore rupees have been spent by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government of the State over Narmada Seva Yatra event to accomplish political gains.

State Congress president Arun Yadav addressing media persons on Monday said, “The BJP Government of the State in order to accomplish its political aims through Narmada Seva Yatra event and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for his personal branding and image building mercilessly spent hard money of the State’s tax payers that is unforgiveable offence.”

Yadav further said that whereas the fact is that CM Chouhan has deceived the innocent people of the state in the name of environmental protection of the River Narmada by exploiting their religious beliefs and has financially benefitted the BJP workers, leaders, office bearers and his favorite ones to further the burden of the state that is already under debt of over 1.75 lakh crore rupees, thus doing injustice with the people of state.

He said that on the onset of the Yatra the chief minister had said that the Yatra would be carried out through public participation and the people would lead it while the government would follow them. But the way unnecessary Government expenditure was done over the Yatra right from its beginning shows up that pockets were filled through the Yatra in a planned way. PM Modi was invited in the concluding program of the Yatra in that misuse of over hundred crore rupees was done different heads. This wastage of the government money is proved through government’s own orders and statistics, he added.

The senior Congress leader said that by  attending the concluding program of the Yatra  the PM has proved that there is much difference in his saying and doing of ‘Na Khaunga na khane dunga’ (neither would I do corruption nor would allow anyone to do corruption).
