The Madhya Pradesh unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is planning to invite national BJP president Amit Shah next month.

After the new president of the BJP’s Madhya Pradesh unit Nandkumar Singh Chouhan has assumed office, the party would soon convene a meeting of the State executive.

Party sources said that it is a routine process after the appointment of new president, State executive meeting is convened for the introduction of the new president. This time, the executive meeting is likely to be important as new national president might join the meeting. After Shah assumed office in New Delhi, he has not visited Madhya Pradesh and the local leadership is of the opinion that he should visit the State at least once to give a message that the saffron party considers Madhya Pradesh as an important State.

Sources said that soon after the State executive meeting, the new State president might announce filling 13 vacant posts in the State-level body. These posts fell vacant, after the State-level office-bearers have been elected to the State assembly or parliament or appointed ministers. Since he has already declared that he would not make any change in the team of the previous president Narendra Singh Tomar, sources claim that he would have to fill vacant posts with new young party workers.
