Bharatiya Janata Party Member of Parliament Ganesh Singh gave befitting reply to the Congress in the Parliament over the issue of drought in Madhya Pradesh.
Singh taking part in the debate over drought not only advocated the State Government by informing the House that contrary to Congress charges, the State Government immediately did provide relief materials to the drought hit farmers but also presented the facts and figures in the house to reject the Congress’ misleading theory.
Singh expressing concern over the continuous drought conditions in the state suggested the central government that only relief is not enough but an effective crop insurance scheme should also be formulated. “About 50 per cent of the farming in the country depends on monsoon. Rains ratio is continuously falling and due to that entire country has become vulnerable to drought. It is for the first time that the Central Government seems to be serious over drought. Teams were sent to the drought hit states for estimation and relief fund was allocated,” Singh added.
He hit out at the Congress by saying that MP faced drought in 2012 also but the then Congress led UPA Government of the centre did not provided even a penny for relief.
The Satna parliamentarian disaffirmed the charges leveled by Congress MPs Jyotiraditya Scindia, Kamalnath and Kantilal Bhuria over drought in the state and informed the parliament about the efforts made by chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in providing relief to the farmers of the State with facts and figures.
