The posters of IT Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya in different parts of the State Capital apparently indicate groupism within the State unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
In the posters erected at several inter-sections, Vijayvargiya has been called 'Haryana ka Hero'. In the hoardings and advertisements, it has been prominently publicized that whatever could not be done in the history of Haryana, was made possible by the Minister.
Notably, Vijayvargiya was in-charge for Haryana State in the Assembly elections held there recently. In the outcome of the polls, the saffron party had a clear majority and the supporters of Vijayvargiya are out to take credit of the victory in Haryana.
Surprisingly, State BJP organizational general secretary Arvind Menon, who played an important role in wresting 42 seats out of 62 constituencies in Vidarbha of Maharashtra, where he was sent for organizational work, could get a place in the hoardings.
There is no mention of the victory in Maharashtra's Vidarbha region, where the party could not win so many seats till date.
Regarding the hoardings of Vijayvargiya, a section of the ruling party claimed that those boasting of creating history in Haryana are indirectly commenting on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, as both of them had been in-charge of elections earlier in Haryana.
Party sources said that when both Modi and Chouhan were in-charge of the Haryana State, they failed to bring the party to power.
A section of the BJP also claimed that the Minister was sent to Haryana just a month ago and in such a situation, it is hard to believe that he could have worked to bring the party to power. They feel that it was only wave of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that paved the path for success in the Assembly elections there.
Political observers, however, feel that the hoardings of Vijayvargiya and publicizing him as the hero of Haryana would not affect much the State politics. It is expected that he could get bigger responsibility in the team of BJP's national president Amit Shah.
