BJP MlA adopts unique method to increase vote bank

Published on:

Bhopal Central legislator from the BJP Surendranath Singh has adopted an innovative idea to increase his vote bank, by opposing decisions of his own (BJP) Government in Madhya Pradesh.

Time and again, he was seen opposing the anti-encroachment drive in the State capital, particularly in his constituency. It is otherwise that the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) is facing problems in several parts of the State capital, as in some of them, the BJP legislators are quite powerful.

Recently, Surendranath Singh was witnessed opposing the decision of the Congress and BJP corporators not to allow abattoir near Kankali temple on Raisen road, in the outskirts of Bhopal. Singh openly used the facebook and other social media platforms to oppose it.

He stated that there is a distance of more than three kms between the slaughterhouse site and the temple. Thus, there is no issue of opposing the slaughterhouse, he added.

On Saturday, he opposed the shifting of Benazir College to Kolar road from near lower lake. On Saturday, when the some records and furniture were being shifted, the students staged a dharna shouting slogans in the college campus. Sensing the situation, BJP MlA Surendranath Singh reached there and sat on dharna along with the students.

While talking to media persons, he said that he would not let shifting happen at any cost. Kolar is far from the present site and shifting will affect students. The legislator claimed the issue would be raised before Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

A Government official claimed that the reason behind shifting the college to Kolar road, is that there is no Government college on this location, while there are three colleges in a row near lower lake.
