Madhya Pradesh Congress took to task the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government for the statement of Energy Minister Rajendra Shukla on Tuesday. leader of Opposition in the Assembly Ajay Singh alleged that the BJP government has lost its balance and its ministers have forgotten the line of decency.
The statement by Shukla that people of the state have become thick-skinned is an insult to more than seven crore people of the state, he said.
“The BJP government is not doing any favour to the people by charging huge bills after buying costly power from outside. And as far as the question of thick skin is concerned, the government and its ministers have obviously become thick-skinned as they keep insulting the common people,” he alleged.
“Every section in the state including women, farmers, labourers, dalits and tribals are being insulted by the government,” Singh stated.
MPCC President Kantilal Bhuria also did not miss the opportunity to target the BJP government after Shukla’s unusual remarks made early in the day. “As the elections are approaching, the ministers are losing their mental balance. They have become so desperate that they open their mouth to speak something else and end up uttering an entirely different thing.
This is natural consequence of the failure of BJP government at every front,” Bhuria remarked, adding that frustrated by the failure, instead of targeting the opposition, BJP ministers are targeting the people of Madhya Pradesh.
Shukla’s reaction is understandable as he has not been able to do anything in his tenure, he said.
