BJP may see a revolt in local body election

Published on:

Even as November 11 has been fixed to declare names of the candidates for the local bodies’ elections, many BJP workers expressed their resentment against the State leadership that without declaring their names, many aspirant candidates have been told to start preparation for the polls.

On getting indication from the leadership, many candidates have started preparing documents, and even oath taking papers. This situation has created pressure on selection committee also.

The leaders have told the claimants to keep all the papers including no dues and oath taking papers in ready. However, the final decision would be made on 11 November evening.

Meanwhile, many party workers alleged that the tickets are being sold. Sensing that many angry workers can revolt against the party and fight election as independent candidates i.e., the party is working on a strategy to declare the names of candidate only at eleventh hour i.e. on November 11 evening.

The BJP has also prepared a penal of advocates under the leadership of Surendra Singh Parihar. The penal has started meeting at the Mukherjee Bhavan from 9 to 11 am and from 7 pm. The penal is telling the documents with the voters list.

Insiders indicated that family members and kin of prominent leaders are likely to contest in the elections, which include Tushmul Jha, son of Rajya Sabha MP, Prabhat Jha, Devendra Singh Tomar, son of Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Peetambar Singh, son of Minister Maya Singh are doing rounds.
