BJP legislators corner own Govt

BJP legislators attempted to corner the State Government of their own party during the current Winter Session of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly, here on Tuesday. During Question Hour, few BJP MlAs attacked the Government by stating that the few officers were trying to mislead the House.

Anchal Sonkar of the BJP told the House that the officers were providing false information and said that the Ministers were not prepared for facing the questions; they speak out whatever the officers give in writing to them.

Sonkar had asked questions regarding functioning of a shop bar in Jabalpur district, despite not having any parking space. Dissatisfied with the reply of the Minister, Sonkar said that there were several bars that are functioning on first floor or above, which was against the rules and no action was being taken against them. Finally, Finance Minister Jayant Malaiya assured the House that he would get the matter investigated.

Similarly, during Question Hour, BJP legislator Parul Sahu raised the issue of irregularities in the rural and urban electricity centres in Rahatgarh development block of Sagar district. The Minister assured that he would get the matter investigated and stern action would be taken against those found guilty.

MlA from Bhopal Vishnu Khatri raised the issue delay in replacing the old and non-functional electricity transformers in Bhopal district. He stated that despite having deposited complete payment for the work, the transformers have not been replaced. He also alleged that the farmers are feeling harassed as they are getting exorbitant electricity bills, despite not having any electricity.

Similar issue was raised by BJP MlA Murlidhar patidar, regarding shortage of electricity to farmers in Susner Assembly constituency.
