BJP leaders turn heat on party president after BJP loses Jhabua bypoll

After having lost the Jhabua by-election, BJP leaders have started raising voice against the State BJP president Rakesh Singh.

After the BJP lost the Jhabua bypoll to the Congress, senior MLA from Sidhi Kedar Shukla has demanded resignation from party state president Rakesh Singh.

Claiming that there are several issues that he wants to raise before party forum, Shukla told media persons that that State president Rakesh Singh was not being able to discharge responsibilities properly as the state head, thus he should step down at the earliest.

The senior leader claimed that he has written to party high command over his demand. After senior MLA Kedar Shukla rebellious tones, another senior leader Raghunandan Sharma spoke on Friday against his own party seniors.

Sharma, who has always been at loggerheads with his own party leaders, said that persons responsible in the party should not hesitate to accept responsibility for the loss in Jhabua. If someone dodges his responsibility it is not a healthy sign, Sharma added.

The senior leader said that reasons behind the loss in Jhabua should be considered and the party organisation needs to introspect on the defeat.

Sharma, known for always against Shivraj Singh Chauhan, further claimed that he had said during the Assembly elections that if the party wins the credit should go entirely to Shivraj Singh Chauhan who should also share the blame solely, if the party fails to form government next time.

However, State BJP chief Rakesh Singh has not come out with his statements over these voices raised against him.
