A day after former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Babulal Gaur warned the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the saffron party approached him here on Friday. Swatantra Dev Singh, Minister of State (MoS), Independent Charge, Transport in Uttar Pradesh, who has been sent to Madhya Pradesh in connection with the Lok Sabha elections, on Friday reached Gaur at his residence.

Later, the Uttar Pradesh Minister told media persons that the talks were in cordial atmosphere. However, he declined to comment on whether Gaur would be fielded from Bhopal parliamentary seat. Earlier in the day, Higher Education Minister Jitu Patwari had also called on Gaur at his residence.

Later, he did not speak out anything regarding the talks. However, this meeting spread message that Gaur could join Congress to contest parliamentary election. On Thursday, Gaur had warned that if the party continues to ignore senior leaders, its future is bleak. "BJP has sidelined senior leaders of the party. If it doesn't take the opinion of senior leaders then its future will not be good.”

“People who had a chance to win were not given tickets," he told media. Gaur's statement comes a day after he claimed that Congress leader Digvijay Singh offered him to contest Lok Sabha polls from Bhopal constituency on Congress ticket. "He (Digvijay Singh) visited me on December 18 and offered me to contest polls from Bhopal Lok Sabha seat on Congress ticket. I told him I will think about it," said Gaur.
