BJP: land Bill transparent, pro-farmer

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), counter-attacking on senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Jairam Ramesh, claimed that the proposed land acquisition amendment Bill  is transparent and pro-farmer that would change the face of the country besides changing the fortune of the farmers.

BJP State president and MP Nandkumar Singh Chouhan in a statement on Monday, said, “The Congress is doing meaningless opposition of those amendments of the land Acquisition Amendment Bill that would become the milestone in the development of the country. The Congress by opposing this act is trying to hamper the development of the country and is deceiving the farmers.”

Chouhan further said that on the one hand, the interests of the farmers have been secured in the amendments while on the other hand, there are provisions that priority would be given to the barren land for the acquisition made for the Government institutions. There are also provisions of four-fold compensations for the farmer’s land and a permanent job for a family member. No other act was brought up that is so much clear like this act.

But, by opposing this Congress has exposed its anti-progress disgusting mentality and the BJP is sure that the farmers are not going support this opposition of the Congress, he added.

He said that the agriculture is in trouble in present time, because there is burden of population that is more than capacity of land. Villages are facing crisis of livelihood. The only solution of this is extension of rural industrial activities and establishment of infrastructure through land acquisition.

This work has to be done on the land and could not take place on satellite. With the construction of industrial corridors employment opportunities would increase in the villages, he added.

He said that the Prime Minister and the BJP are committed for the prosperity of the farmers while the Congress by opposing is exposing its negative thinking.
