After the ruckus in ticket distribution in the urban body elections, BJP has now started action. In this case, a report has been called that how the tickets were distributed to the candidates with criminal tendencies? Although no one in BJP is ready to speak openly about this, but if sources are to be believed, the organisation has called for a list of leaders from across the state, on the basis of whose recommendation tickets have been distributed.
The biggest problem for the BJP is that tickets were also given to some candidates who were involved in serious criminal cases like gambling and betting.
Then after opposition, the tickets of those claimants had to be withdrawn. In such a situation, now the organisation has decided to call for a list of those leaders, on the basis of whose recommendation tickets were distributed to leaders with criminal tendencies.
BJP had to withdraw some of the tickets distributed to the councilors in the urban body elections. Even in a big place like Bhopal, tickets were given to two such candidates who had serious criminal records.
BJP changed the candidates of ward 40 and 44 for the post of councillor. Masarat, wife of Babu Mastan, accused of running bets from Ward 40, was given the first ticket, later it was cancelled.
Also the ticket of notorious Bhupendra Chauhan alias Pinky Bhadauria was cut from Ward 44.
A strong complaint was received against both the candidates who were made candidates from Ward 40 and 44, so their tickets were cancelled. If sources are to be believed, one of the claimants was recommended at the ministerial level.
However, politics has started in this matter.
BJP's state media in-charge Lokendra Parashar says that BJP has a zero tolerance policy to give tickets to criminals. As far as calling for the report is concerned, any decision in the party is taken collectively. In BJP, tickets are not given on the recommendation of anyone.
Meanwhile, Congress has put BJP in the dock in this matter. KK Mishra, president of Congress's media department, says that BJP promotes leaders with criminal background.
This is the reason why such candidates were given tickets. After the media report, everyone had to cut their tickets under compulsion.
