BJP has no moral right to agitate against corruption, says Singh

After trying to protect eight ministers implicated in corruption by the lokayukta and accepting donation from Dow Chemicals and KMG chit fund company, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has no moral right to agitate against corruption,” alleged leader of Opposition in State Assembly Ajay Singh on Sunday.

Singh criticised senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad who led the dharna staged by the party against corruption here on Sunday.

Targeting Ravi Shankar, the opposition leader said, “Ravi Shankar should start his fight against corruption by setting his own house in order. If he is really honest about removing corruption, he should first remove corruption from Madhya Pradesh Government.”

“If Ravi Shankar looks at his own party’s Government here he would find that nearly one dozen Ministers of the Government are facing serious allegations of corruption currently under investigation by the lokayukta. More than `1200 crore have been recovered in one year in several cases of corruption,” he added.

Referring to the report about donations received by various political parties released recently by Association of Democratic Reforms and National Election Watch, Singh said, “The report exposes the truth of BJP which claims to be a clean party. It also exposes the false claims of the party regarding corruption.”

“How can the party which receives donations from mining mafia, liquor mafia and companies involved in massive misappropriation of money from the common people be serious about fighting against corruptionIJ” he added.

“If Ravi Shankar is really shaken by massive corruption he should start his campaign against corruption from Madhya Pradesh and he should take action first against the Chief Minister for his involvement in the illegal dumper transfer case,” he said.

Singh also released a list of BJP ministers allegedly involved in several cases of corruptions including CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

In the list it has been alleged that the CM is not involved in irregularities related to dumper and also influenced the lokayukta by favouring his son. The other ministers who figure in the list include Industries and Commerce minister Kailash Vijayvargia, Health minister Narotam Mishra, Animal Husbandry minister Ajay Bishnoi, Home minister Uma Shankar Gupta, Energy minister Rajendra Shukla, public works minister Nagendra Singh, school education minister Archana Chitnis, higher education minister laxmikant Sharma, labour minister Jagannath Singh.
