Madhya Pradesh Youth Congress has alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government of the State has failed to check crimes against women.
Bhopal Youth Congress lok Sabha committee member Manoj Shukla in a statement here on Tuesday alleged that the BJP government of the state led by chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has failed to curb women oppression.
Shukla said that observing that the state government is not able to provide security to the women the Youth Congress distributed chili powder packets to the women for self defense. The women were told that they can use chili powder in self defense on any person who tries to torture them, he added.
He said that the incidences of rape in Madhya Pradesh under the Chouhan led BJP government have break all records and the chief minister is busy petting his back during the Jan Ashirwad Yatra by misleading people by presenting false development figures, he added.
Shukla, former Bhopal lok Sabha Youth Congress president said that the women of the state are since long demanding to curb incidences of oppression on them and strict action against those who are involved in those incidences but the BJP government has failed in doing so. Hurt with this attitude of the state government the Youth Congress having sympathies with women woes came forward to inspire them for self defense, he added.
He said that the Bhopal Youth Congress would establish women security centers on all the busy squares of the state capital where Youth Congress workers would be available for helping women.
