The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in Madhya Pradesh is making all out efforts to take on Union Minister Kamal Nath in the upcoming lok Sabha elections.
Earlier, it was believed that the BJP, in want of good candidate in Chhindwara is likely to hand over the Chhindwara constituency to Kamal Nath, without fielding any strong candidate from there.
However, now the BJP has got a good name in Nath’s bastion Chindwara.
Swami Akhileshanand Giri, who is considered as spiritual guru of Gond tribe in the Mahakaushal region, is being considered as the saffron party’s official candidate from Chhindwara.
He has strong clout among the Gondi people who take pride in following his directives. By now, the Gondi had been supporting Nath during elections and
election analysts feel that they played important role in Nath’s victory.
Similar was the story behind emergence of Gondwana Gantantra Party (GGP). In the year 1991, a new regional political party formed by the local people was named in the name of the region called GGP under the leadership of the
local political leader Hira Singh Markam.
Party sources claimed that recently, Swami Avdheshanand alias Dhruvnarayan Dube recently shared dais with Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in Chhindwara and thus it was believed
that the party might consider this spiritual guru against Kamal Nath.
BJP sources claimed that till date the party did not have any strong candidate against Nath, but after the name of Swami Akhileshanand
Giri is in talks, he might be fielded from Chhindwara.
Swami Avdheshanand is stationed at Jabalpur,
but he keeps on visiting
almost all the major towns in the region.
Political observers feel that Swami Avdheshanand might give tough fight to Nath, who has been wresting the constituency smoothly for over four decades.
