BJP, Cong nexus incur loss to State: Alok

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) State Convener and Spokesperson Alok Agrawal has on Friday alleged that the nexus between Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and the newly appointed president of Madhya Pradesh Congress Kamal Nath has incurred huge loss to the State.

While talking to media persons here on Friday, Agrawal said that the facts came to fore regarding MB Power ltd Company’s project coming up in Anuppur, reveal that the State government went into an illegal agreement with the company that incurred a loss of Rs 585 crore to the State.

He said that it was surprising that this company is related to the family of Kamal Nath. Probably, this was the reason that Nath after formation of this company, in past seven years never raised voice against this illegal agreement. Agrawal alleged that this fact suggests that BJP and Congress are involved together in the irregularities.

MB Power limited went into an agreement with the State government on January 5, 2011. As per the policy of the Central government (January 6, 2006), any agreement could be materialized only through competitive tender, but violating this policy, the State government went into the agreement with this company.

The second important point, Agrawal raised was that on the day of the agreement, Gajara Mehata was not posted as the Chief Engineer, who signed the agreement, on the agreement date, ie January 5, 2011. The documents suggest that Mehata was posted as Chief Engineer on January 31, 2011. This clearly indicates that the agreement was illegal and this resulted in hiking the electricity tariff between 2015 and 2018.

He informed that MB Power Company is one specially formed company by the Moserbaer Company. In the Moserbaer Company, Kamalnath’s brother-in-law Deepak Puri holds the position of the chairman and Sister Nita Puri and nephew Ratul Puri also hold positions in the company.

In an affidavit submitted by Nath with the Election Commission, during 2014 elections, he has submitted that he owns 6,450 shares in the company.
