BJP concedes defeat, cites lack of strategy

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Madhya Pradesh president and MP Nandkumar Singh Chouhan reacting over the result of Ratlam-Jhabua parliamentary and Dewas assembly constituencies said in democracy people’s verdict is paramount and we have accepted it humbly.

Chouhan said that the people of Dewas Assembly constituency have made party candidate Gayatri Raje Puar victorious for that party is grateful to them and assures the people that the party and its candidate would not leave any stone unturned to meet their expectations.

He said that since post independence Congress’ affect has been reflected over the Ratlam – Jhabua parliamentary constituency and the grand old party has won last 14 elections over that except for 2014 when the BJP managed to win the seat by senior tribal Dilip Singh Bhuria who had defeated Kantilal Bhuria by over one lakh votes. Due to his untimely death the BJP fielded his daughter Nirmala Bhuriya in the by-election who could not win from party’s traditional rival and we lost the seat, he added.

He said that during the past 12 years in all the areas and fields in the State the light of development has reached even in far-flung villages but we could not deliver the message of development to the people of tribal areas that remained out weakness or shortcoming. We accept this strategic shortcoming of ours. But we assure the regional people that the loss from here would not hamper the ongoing development as victory and defeat are two important and inevitable parts of democracy. The party would continue to serve the people of the region and the development of the region would remain in its priority list. Whole State is our family, the service of the people is our commitment and we are pledged for the comprehensive development of all sections of the society , he added.
