The BJP candidates of all the three Assembly constituencies that go to the polls on August 21 filed their nominations on Saturday in the presence of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, State BJP president and Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and State organisational general secretary Arvind Menon.

BJP candidate for Agar (SC) seat Gopal Parmar filed his nomination papers in Agar only while Sanjay Pathak, party candidate for Vijayraghvgarh and Pranab Pande for Bahoriband filed their nominations at Katni. Public meetings of Chouhan, Tomar and Menon were held at both the places after filing of nominations.

Chouhan, addressing the election meeting, said, "The river of development is flowing in the State. Respecting the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) that is in force in the State no new announcement would be made but we are hopeful that the BJP candidates would get the blessings of the people and they would emerge victorious."

Chouhan further said that victory of the BJP candidates would strengthen his hands. "My life is dedicated to the 7.5 crore people of the State. As soon as the MCC comes to an end work would be started on the development work plan and new dimensions would be opened for the welfare of the people," he added.

Tomar in his address said, "Chouhan has brought out the State from the shade of BIMARU tag and made it the fastest developing State in the country. The State has made new records of growth, especially agricultural growth, in the country. It is due to this commitment of the BJP to the people that they have sent the party to power for three consecutive terms."

Tomar further said that the mandate is respect for us; people have punished the Congress for its inaction.
